• About Department	The Department of Marathi has been functioning since 1991, the inception of the institute. It is one of the oldest departments with two full-time teachers. The department offers Optional Marathi course at B.A. and Second Language for B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. The department runs Certificate course of Media Writing Skill’s in Marathi. Prof. Kamble P.B. (M.A.,M.Phil., Ph.D.) is the current H.O.D of Marathi Department   and have been recognized as research guide by Dr. B.A.M.U, Aurangabad. The department holds an excellent record of Good results, meritorious students, 2+ research student Awarded with Ph.D. under the guidance of Marathi Faculty. and more NET/SET qualified students. It has a collection of more than 120 books pertaining to Marathi Language and Literature in departmental Library. The department conducts various competitions such as elocution, grammatical writing skill, essay-writing and research paper writing competition for students. The department organizes How to crack Competitive Exam Seminar for UG students. The department organizes guest lectures of eminent teachers to update both the teacher and students knowledge. The department observes Teacher’s Day, Guru-pournima , Marathi Bhasha gaurav din , Marathi saptah and  different debates and speech competition in different topics.
  Features:	·       Teaching Marathi language to non-native speakers. ·       Conducting research on Marathi literature, linguistics, culture, and history. ·       Creating and publishing Marathi language textbooks, dictionaries, and other learning materials. ·       Offering language courses at different levels, from beginner to advanced. ·       Organizing cultural events and workshops related to Marathi language and culture.
  aims and objective	·       Developing and promoting Marathi language education programs at all levels, from primary school to university.   ·       Conducting research on Marathi language and literature, including its history, grammar, and syntax, as well as its cultural significance and impact.   ·       Developing and maintaining resources for Marathi language learners and educators, including textbooks, dictionaries, and language learning software.   ·       Encouraging the use of Marathi language in various domains, including literature, media, and government.   ·       Promoting Marathi language and literature through conferences, workshops, and cultural events.   ·       Collaborating with other language departments and linguistic experts to promote linguistic diversity and multilingualism.   ·       Creating opportunities for Marathi language speakers to connect and engage with each other, both within and outside of Maharashtra.   ·       Overall, the Marathi Language Department would aim to promote the growth and development of Marathi language and culture, both within India and around the world.   ·       Developing language policy guidelines and recommendations for Marathi language use and promotion in government, education, media, and other sectors.   ·       Working with other language departments to promote language learning and multilingualism in schools and communities.   ·       Encouraging the use of Marathi in digital platforms and technologies, such as social media and language processing software.   ·       Promoting the use of Marathi in scientific and technical domains, including translation of technical documents and scientific literature into Marathi.   ·       Developing partnerships with Marathi-speaking communities and organizations to promote language learning and cultural exchange.   ·       Providing training and professional development opportunities for Marathi language teachers and educators.   ·       Encouraging the development of Marathi language literature and media, including the translation of works from other languages into Marathi and the promotion of Marathi language journalism.   ·       Advocating for the recognition and protection of Marathi language rights and the promotion of linguistic diversity.   ·       In summary, the Marathi Language Department would aim to promote the study, preservation, and development of the Marathi language and culture through various initiatives, including education, research, resource development, promotion, and advocacy.
  Future Plans:	·       Expanding the Marathi language curriculum to cover more diverse topics and areas of study. ·       Developing innovative language teaching methods and tools, including online resources and interactive learning materials. ·       Establishing partnerships with other institutions and organizations to promote Marathi language and culture worldwide. ·       Collaborating with Marathi-speaking communities to preserve and promote their language and cultural heritage. ·       Supporting research on the role of Marathi language in education, society, and economy. ·       Providing opportunities for Marathi language learners to practice their language skills through language exchange programs, internships, and study abroad programs. ·       Creating a network of Marathi language teachers and scholars to share best practices, collaborate on research projects, and organize professional development activities. ·       Fostering a love of Marathi literature and art by organizing book clubs, poetry readings, film screenings, and art exhibitions. ·       Promoting Marathi language proficiency by recognizing and rewarding outstanding students and scholars through awards, scholarships, and fellowships. ·       Advocating for the inclusion of Marathi language and culture in mainstream education and media, and raising awareness about the importance of linguistic and cultural diversity. ·       Collaborating with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to develop policies and programs that support the growth and vitality of the Marathi language and culture.

आदर्श महाविद्यालय उमरगा, मराठी विभाग आयोजित ‘गतिमान शिक्षणातून समाज परिवर्तन ‘ या पुस्तकाचा प्रकाशन समारंभ.आदर्श महाविद्यालयात मराठी विभागाच्या वतीने प्रसिध्द साहित्यीक भाऊरावजी सोमवंशी यांच्या गतिमान शिक्षणातून समाजपरिवर्तन या वैचारिक लेखसंग्रहाचे प्रकाशन झाले.महाविद्यालयाच्या सांस्कृतिक सभागृहात दि.१३/१२/२०२२ रोजी कादंबरीकार माजी प्राचार्य शिवमूर्ती भांडेकर यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली व विचारवंत मोहिन कादरी,अहमदपूरकर यांच्या शुभहस्ते प्रकाशीत करण्यात आला.

    उमरगा-आदर्श महाविद्यालय उमरगा व मराठवाडा साहित्य परिषद शाखाह उमरगा येथे दि .१४ जाने .२०२३ ते २८ जाने.२०२३ या कालावधित “मराठी भाषा संवर्धन पंधरवडा”सप्ताह साजरा करण्यात आला.

     मराठी भाषेच्या संवर्धनासाठी व वाढिसाठी विविध उपक्रम व स्पर्धा यानिमित्ताने राबविण्यात आले.

    मराठी भाषेत निबंध,पत्रलेखन,काव्यवाचन स्पर्धा स्पर्धा घेण्यात आल्या.निबंध स्पर्धेत-सुशांत जाधव,कु.अंजली जगदेवे,वेदांत देशपांडे यांनी तर पत्रलेखन स्पर्धेत-कु.वैष्णवी नरसुरज,कु.पुजा पोळे,संदिप कटारे यांनी व काव्यवाचन स्पर्धेत कु.गायत्री इंगळे ‘ संदिपक कटारे , दिपक गायकवाड यांनी अमुक मे प्रथम,व्दितीय,तृतीय क्रमांक मिळविला.

   पररिसंवादात “मराठी भाषेची आजची स्थिती” या विषयावर मसापचे उपाध्य प्रा.किरण सगर यांनी मराठी भाषेची समृध्द परंपरा सांगून आपला मराठीकडे पाहण्याचा दृष्टीकोन अधिक व्यापक व्हावा.असे मत मांडले.

     विविध स्पर्धेचे पारितोषिक वितरण शनि.दि.२७ रोजी करण्यात आले.अध्यक्षस्थानी महाविद्यालयाचे प्राचार्य डाॅ दिलीप गरुड हे होते.त्यांनी मातृभाषेचे महत्त्व समजावून सांगून तरुण विद्यार्थ्यांनी व अभ्यासकांनी मराठी भाषा ही खऱ्या अर्थाने ज्ञानभाषा व्हावी असे प्रतिपादन केले.प्रमूख पाहुणे म्हणून उपप्रचार्य डाॅ.सुरेश कुलकर्णी यांनीही जागतिकिरणात मराठी भाषा कशीपरिवर्तनशील आहे हा विचार सांगितला.सूत्रसंचलन व संयोजन प्रा.लक्ष्मण बिराजदार यानी कले.मराठी विभाचे प्रमूख प्रो.कांबळे पी.बी.,विद्यार्थी,विद्यार्थींनी मोठ्या संख्येने उपस्थित होते.

“मराठी भाषा संवर्धन पंधरवडा “, निमित्ताने मराठी विभागाच्या वतीने घेण्यात आलेल्या निबंध,पत्रलेखन व काव्यवाचन स्पर्धेची कांही क्षणचित्रे.
